About
Working across healthcare, organizations and culture — connecting strategy with expression to reveal relationships that are often hard to see.
Why many fields
Why would one person work across photography, film, radio, healthcare and organizations? Because the subject is the same.
Shintarrow does not see photography, film, radio and organizational communication as separate professions. They are different languages, used to observe, interpret and communicate what is happening between people, places and organizations.
Behind what we see, there are moments before words — when something essential about people and society suddenly appears. It is rarely on the surface. It lives in the air of a place, and in the quiet relationships between people.
A photograph, a film, a radio programme or the communication design of a hospital are different ways of reaching that moment, and of carrying it to others.
Numbers and systems cannot hold everything. The small voices and relationships in the field are often left behind. The work is to pick up those stories and give them light again.
Separated, each skill loses the context and energy that connect them. Held together, they become one perspective — designed with strategy, and realised by hand.
Working across boundaries.
Integrating disciplines.
Exploring the liminal space between them.
— Synthesizing new contexts.

Biography
吉川 慎太郎(Shintarrow)
Photographer · Filmmaker · Radio Producer · Advisor · Social Artist
Shintaro Yoshikawa works as an artist under the name Shintarrow. With photography and film at the centre of his practice, he designs communication across several fields: public relations strategy for hospitals and companies, radio production, and regional cultural projects.
His role goes beyond production. Starting from the realities of the field and the structure of an organization, he decides what should be communicated, how far, and in what form — and then realises it himself as images and content.
He runs Haikaraya (High Color Studio), a photography studio inside the Twenty-Four Eyes Movie Village on Shodoshima, and develops exhibitions and cultural projects in Japan and abroad.
He holds an MBA and a Healthcare MBA, and currently works in executive and advisory roles in communication and expression across healthcare, regional and organizational contexts.
Land · Sea · Air · Radio
The aim was never to collect skills. It was to have what is needed to solve the problem in front of us, and to be useful to someone — when it matters, in the form it requires.

With special (passenger) operator endorsement and personal watercraft licence.

Aeronautical special radio operator; First-class maritime special radio operator; Second-class land special radio operator.

MBA · Healthcare MBA
Between strategy and expression.
The perspective on management and organizations gained through an MBA and a Healthcare MBA is not separate from photography and film. It means being able to speak with hospital and company leadership in the language of strategy — and then to pick up a camera and translate that into the language of expression.
Not sensibility alone, and not logic alone. Moving between the two is what the present practice grows from.
Strategy, structure and priorities — discussed with hospital and company executives in their own terms, before anything is produced.
More than 20 years with general hospitals, university hospitals and radiotherapy centres, where care and its value are rarely easy to put into words.
Photography, film, radio and exhibitions — where the same understanding becomes images, voices and spaces that people can actually receive.
Perspective
These accumulations are what made me who I am.
And from here on, the same —
what is needed, in the form it needs.
